This class is for creatives who are interested in the art and craft of sign painting. It will be an introduction to the history of sign painting, the tools of the trade, and sign painter’s casual alphabet.
In this workshop we’ll learn about the history of sign painting, and the renaissance that the craft is currently enjoying. Heather will teach the materials and tools of the trade, and you’ll try your own hand at brush lettering. We will focus on sign painter’s causal alphabet, a style of lettering unique to sign painting which is the bread and butter of any sign painter. After guided practice time, each participant will paint their own sign board using sign painters paint and brushes.
Join us for this 4 hour class focused on the basics of brush lettering. Each participant will leave with a lettering quill, a screen printed practice alphabet, a basics of brush lettering zine, their painted sign, and the skills and knowledge to begin their own brush lettering practice.
